Material Guide
At Ovani we craft our jewelry using only the finest precious metals such as solid 18K White Gold, 18K Yellow Gold, 18K Rose Gold and Platinum Vermeil (Silver). Each product page will offer options as to what precious metals are available for the particular design. We have an array of beautiful designed jewelry that simply dazzle with brilliance and luster.
We are also able to custom make any design in pure solid platinum (PT950) when requested. At Ovani, we understand that every customer is unique and no one jewelry fits the other, we believe in “tailoring” our collection to suit your needs, style and desire. All Ovani jewelry pieces are finished in a manner befitting its quality, in the same way as the finest jewelers around the world. We adhere to the highest of quality and our jewelries are testament to what we represent; true elegance and sophistication. In the case of all solid 18K gold jewelry, each piece will be hallmarked with “750” representing a 75% gold content. For Platinum Vermeil jewelry, there will be no hallmark on some designs instead it will be stamped with our company hallmark “OVN”. All pure solid platinum will be hallmarked with “950” representing a 95% pure platinum content.
Platinum Vermeil
Ovani’s proprietary Platinum Vermeil material is created using Molecular deposition Vacuum Plating TechnologyTM where a sterling silver base is plated with a metal from the platinum family. Using sophisticated machinery, layer upon layer of platinum is deposited onto the solid sterling silver base. This process is repeated twelve times.
Our Platinum Vermeil metal is comparable to pure platinum in appearance and craftsmanship. Because it’s primary base composition of sterling silver, our Platinum Vermeil is considerably more affordable than pure platinum. The very definition of value for money.
Sterling silver provides a proper inert foundation for platinum, which reacts irreversibly with cheaper base metals. Worn with caution, the platinum plating can retain its perfect appearance indefinitely. If however, the platinum plating is damaged by scratches, the underlying lustre of pure sterling silver will continue to provide an equally lustrous shine to complement your exquisite ORRO diamond simulated Gemstone.

Solid 18K White Gold
White Gold is an alloy of gold mixed with other white metals such as silver and palladium. The result is a grey colored gold. In order to give the gold a ‘white’ look, it is plated with a platinum family metal called Rhodium. Rhodium is a beautiful lustrous material that is very hard and costs twice as much as platinum and four times as much as gold. If you wear your solid white gold ring on a daily basis, it will be good to re-rhodium plate it approximately every 12 to 18 months. We are able to rhodium plate your white gold jewelry at small fee.

Solid 18K Yellow Gold
Yellow Gold is an alloy of gold and other yellow metals to make it strong enough for crafting into jewelry and hard enough to resist scratching. Our yellow gold mountings are polished by hand and like all gold jewelry, they need to be polished every 12 to 18 months, depending on how often it is worn.

Solid 18K Rose Gold
Rose gold is also known as crown gold, which is 22 karat. For 18 karat rose gold, typically silver is added to 75% gold and copper is added to give a rose color.
At Ovani, our rose gold is elegant and has a unique old world charm to it. It captures nostalgia and exudes elegance. To keep with this charmed luster, we take pride in the combination of our rose gold alloy and are all designed and crafted by skilled craftsman. Rose gold is perfect for dazzling gemstones and its tinge of colors has a nice character to it.

Pure Solid Platinum (PT950)
Pure solid platinum (PT950) is of high quality and is silver-white in color. It is lustrous, ductile, and malleable. Platinum is more ductile than gold, silver and copper. It is the most ductile of pure metals. Unlike other metals, due to its chemical property it does not oxidize at any temperature. Platinum is insoluble in acids and thus it is a very chemically resistant metal. Platinum’s resistance to wear and tarnish is well suited for making fine jewelry; the very reason why we have a pure platinum collection to compliment our gemstones. Pure platinum is harder than pure iron. The metal has an excellent resistance to corrosion and high temperature.
In terms of aesthetics, platinum has all the subtleties of a truly refined beauty and is provides a perfect setting to showcase your stones.

Two-Toned 18K White/Yellow/Rose Gold
The bespoke ring designs at Ovani incorporate two or three toned gold colors in a single jewelry piece. This provides an exquisite visual appearance providing contrast, emphasizing the brilliance of the gems set on it.
At Ovani, we have two different types of Two-Toned 18K white/yellow/rose gold:
At Ovani, we have two different types of Two-Toned 18K white/yellow/rose gold:
Solid Two-Toned 18K Gold
This is created when a single jewelry piece is casted in two or more pieces, each in different 18K gold colors – white gold, yellow gold or rose gold. The pieces are skilfully welded together to form one defining piece of art by our craftsmen.
Solid Two-Toned 18K Gold will retain its color forever as the base color of the material is as what you see.

Plated Two-Toned 18K gold
This is created when a jewelry piece is casted in a single toned color – Either full 18K white gold, 18K rose gold or 18K yellow gold. Thereafter, when the crafting of the jewelry piece is completed, it is partially and artificially plated with a different color as compared to its base color to create a distinctive two-tone contrast color visually similar to a Solid-Two Toned 18K gold piece.
This method is used only when the design does not allow for it to be crafted as a solid two-toned gold. For example, an 18K White Gold ring may have certain parts of the ring plated in Rose Gold to give a two-toned effect.
The base color of a plated Two-Toned 18K gold jewelry is the same throughout the entire piece. Any secondary colors are plated on the surface. Therefore, through daily wear and as the jewelry gets into contact with the skin and other surfaces, the external plating may wear off over time revealing its base color.
